How To Be Right With God

One of the words the Bible and biology have in common is regeneration.  In the animal kingdom, it means replacing a lost part.  It's a salamander's tail growing back.  It's a starfish getting a new arm.  It's a deer growing a new set of antlers.

That animal-world miracle has a spiritual counterpart.  But spiritual regeneration isn't restoring part of who you use to be.  It's becoming a better; a brand new, you.

William Evans, former instructor at Moody Bible Institute, described regeneration: “It is not the old nature altered, reformed, or re-invigorated, but a new birth from above.”

God working in you changes you, not by improving old traits, but giving you new ones.

He changes how you think about things, how you act and react.  You start walking a new direction.  It's on the narrow path that Jesus taught leads to life everlasting  (Matthew 7:13-14).

Spiritual regeneration is transformation.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Titus 3:5 (NKJV), “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”

Your best will never do. Let God transform you.
